Your No Claims Discount (NCD) is a reward for driving without making any insurance claims. The more claim-free years you have, the greater the discount you’ll receive on your premium.
Can I Bring My Existing NCD to INSHUR?
Yes. If you have an existing No Claims Discount from a previous insurer, you can declare this when getting your quote to reduce your premium. We accept NCD from commercial insurance policies only – this includes Private Hire and Hire & Reward.
| Important: We do not accept NCD earned on a fleet OR private Social, Domestic and Pleasure (SD&P) vehicle policy. NCD cannot be declared on or earned through the Amazon Flex (Pay As You Flex) product. |
How Do I Earn More NCD With INSHUR?
You can earn NCD on Courier and Private Hire policies:
- Annual policy: If no claims are made during the full 12-month policy period, you earn one additional year of NCD at renewal.
- 30-day policy: If you renew 12 consecutive times (approx. 360 days) without any claims or breaks in coverage, you earn one year’s NCD.
More detailed information can be found in your policy wording document.
Can I Protect My NCD?
You can protect your NCD if:
- You have 4 or more claim-free years with INSHUR, OR
- You join INSHUR with 4 years of NCD from a previous provider
NCD protection means that one claim during the policy period will not reduce your accumulated discount. You cannot pay to protect your NCD unless you meet the 4-year minimum requirement.
| Note: Only commercial NCD (Private Hire, Hire & Reward) is accepted. Private vehicle NCD is not transferable. |
Do I Need to Provide Proof of My NCD?
Yes. If you declare an NCD at quote, you will be asked to provide proof once your policy is active.
Please see 'What Is The Document Validation Process?' for more information.
How Do I Get My NCD Certificate From INSHUR?
At the end of your policy period (if no claims have been made), INSHUR will issue you with an NCD certificate. This will be sent to the email address registered on your account, it is also available on your Dashboard.
Please login here to view your NCD Document once your policy has ended.
