What's Covered?
This is a 'Pay As You Flex' policy, that covers you for Amazon Deliveries & Amazon Fresh under the level of cover that you choose.
It is a 90 day policy and a reminder will be sent to you in plenty of time when it's time to renew.
What’s Not Covered?
Please refer to the Pay as You Flex Policy Document and the IPID for full information, below are some items that would not be covered:
- Damages to any packages, goods or tools you’re transporting (you’ll need Goods in Transit for this)
- Compensation above the limit of your policy
- Damages/injuries to passengers (you’ll need Public Liability for this)
- Theft of anything left inside the vehicle
- If the driver of your vehicle isn’t covered to drive it
How does it work?
Instead of paying for the policy in full, you just pay for 40 hours upfront. Payment is then taken automatically every time your wallet balance dips below 16 hours under a 'continuous payment authority'.
Continuous Payment Authority:
A Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) is a type of recurring payment that a service provider sets up on a customer’s card using their debit or credit card details.
Please note that agreeing to a Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) is a condition of the Pay As You Flex policy.
This helps to ensure that you have enough funds available in your wallet to cover your policy with us.
Before we set up your policy you will be asked to confirm the below:
I authorise INSHUR to send instructions to my card issuer, including setting up a Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) to take payments and top up my wallet in accordance with the terms of my agreement and policy with INSHUR.
Payment:
Whilst the policy lasts 90 days, you will only be charged by the minute, based on 'Actual' block data received from Amazon. As explained above, you pay for 40 hours upfront and then payment is taken automatically every time your wallet balance dips below 16 hours.
What is a Block from Amazon?
A block is a period of time that you will book in order to do deliveries.
How long is a Block?
A block is typically 4 hours long, however during peak times Amazon tend to let you extend to 6 hours (Black Friday/Prime Day/Christmas).
What Data do we get sent?
We receive a file each day for the previous day - and it will contain the ACTUAL hours you have done. You might block a 4 hour time but do all deliveries in less time, you will therefore pay for insurance for the actual time driving and will not lose out.
What if you go over the block of time?
There is actually a 30 minute grace period, this is to allow you to get stuck in traffic on the way back to the depot at the end of a block.
What if you go over the grace period?
The top up insurance will charge the wallet the block time, then pause for 30 minutes and then restart.
Wallet Top Ups - What is this and how do they work?
Your wallet is where your insurance credit is held in advance of you agreeing to Booking Blocks with Amazon. It will top up when a policy getsBELOW 16 hours(so a block booking might take you down to 13/14 hours for example) the wallet will then top up the balance to a total of 24 hours x your hourly premium.
Here is an example:
01/10/22 - Your wallet balance is 18 Hours and you book/deliver 4 hours
02/10/22 - Your wallet balance is now 14 hours
- your wallet calculates that your balance is now below 16 hours & calculates that an additional 10 hours is needed
to top up
- 10 x your hourly premium (If the premium is 50p per hour, £5.00 will be charged)
We have Continuous Payment Authority - so have permission to take funds as/when agreed.
What if a top up payment fails?
As with all card payments - we will get failures. We will automatically retry to collect the payment once per day for 3 days, if no successful payment we will give 7 days notice of cancellation.
You are notified when a payment fails and will be informed of our retry process.
