How it works
How does my insurance reach Amazon Flex?
- When you buy your policy, we handle everything in the background.
Do I need to send my insurance documents to Amazon myself?
- No — never. When you buy a Pay As You Flex policy, INSHUR automatically sends your insurance details directly to Amazon Flex. You don't need to do anything.
- Do not send your documents to Amazon yourself. Doing so can cause technical errors and may delay your ability to start deliveries.
How long does it take for my insurance to appear in the Amazon Flex app?
- In most cases your insurance will appear in the Amazon Flex app within a few minutes of purchasing. Occasionally it can take up to 30 minutes.
- If it's been more than 30 minutes and your insurance still isn't showing, check your Amazon Status in your dashboard and follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Where can I check whether my insurance has reached Amazon?
Check your sync status at any time from your INSHUR dashboard:
1 Log in at inshur.com/uk/amazon
2 Select Amazon Status from the menu
3 Your current sync status will be displayed
Sync statuses
What do the statuses mean?
Open Amazon Status in your dashboard and you'll see one of these:
- In Progress: We're sending your details to Amazon Flex now. Check back in a few minutes — no action needed.
- Synced: Your insurance is successfully linked to Amazon Flex. You're good to go.
- Pending: Activation Your policy hasn't started yet. We'll send your details to Amazon automatically when it activates.
- Retrying: Something went wrong, but we're automatically trying again. Check back soon — no action needed yet.
- Failed: The sync has permanently failed. You'll need to trigger a manual re-sync — see how to do this below.
Fixing a failed sync
My status shows "Failed" — what do I do?
- You can fix this yourself from your dashboard. No need to contact us first.
Why might my sync have failed?
- The most common reason is timing. If you bought your INSHUR policy before fully completing your Amazon Flex onboarding, Amazon may not have recognised your account when we first tried to send your details.
- Your cover is still active — this isn't an error with your policy. You just need to re-sync once your Amazon Flex onboarding is complete.
How do I re-sync my insurance with Amazon Flex?
- If your status shows "Failed", a Retry Sync button will appear. Here's what to do:1 Make sure your Amazon Flex onboarding is fully complete2 Log in at inshur.com/uk/amazon and select Amazon Status3 Tap the Retry Sync button4 Your status will change to In Progress — check back in a few minutes
- If the retry works, your status will update to Synced and your insurance will appear in the Amazon Flex app.
I've pressed Retry Sync but it's still showing as Failed
This is usually caused by one of the following:
- Your Amazon Flex onboarding isn't fully complete yet — check the Amazon Flex app for any outstanding steps
- There's a mismatch between your details on INSHUR and Amazon Flex (e.g. driving licence number or date of birth)
If you've checked both and are still stuck, contact us and we'll look into it for you.
Error Codes Explained
If there's a problem syncing, you may see one of these in your Amazon Status screen.
| Error code | What it means & what to do |
|---|---|
| NO_ACCOUNTS_FOUND_FOR_DLN_DOB | Amazon couldn't find a Flex account matching your driving licence and date of birth. Check your details are correct and that your Amazon Flex onboarding is fully complete. |
| ACCOUNT_NOT_FOUND_FOR_DLN_DOB | Same as above — Amazon couldn't match your details. Double-check your licence number and date of birth in both INSHUR and Amazon Flex. |
| MULTIPLE_ACCOUNTS_FOUND_FOR_DLN_DOB | Amazon found more than one account matching your details. Contact Amazon Support directly to resolve the duplicate account. |
| MULTIPLE_ACCOUNTS_FOUND_FOR_CUSTOMER | Amazon found more than one account linked to you. Contact Amazon Support to resolve this. |
| INTERNAL_FAILURE | A temporary issue on Amazon's side. Wait a short while, then try Retry Sync again. |
| EXISTING_ACTIVE_POLICY | An active policy is already linked to this Amazon Flex account. If you've recently switched policies, this should resolve automatically. Contact us if it persists. |
| NO_MAPPING_FOR_PLATFORM_ID | Your Amazon Flex account isn't linked to your insurance yet. Complete your Amazon Flex onboarding first, then use Retry Sync. |
| Other / unexpected error | Something went wrong sending your details to Amazon Flex. Try Retry Sync. If the problem keeps happening, contact us at help@inshur.com. |
Troubleshooting
My insurance isn't showing in the Amazon Flex app
Try these four steps before getting in touch.
- Check your Amazon Status in your INSHUR dashboard. Log in and select "Amazon Status". If it says "In Progress" or "Retrying", wait a little longer — no action needed.
- Refresh the Amazon Flex app. Close the app fully and reopen it. Log out and back in. Check your email address matches exactly between INSHUR and Amazon Flex.
- If your status shows "Failed", use Retry Sync. Make sure your Amazon Flex onboarding is fully complete first. Do not send documents to Amazon manually.
- If nothing is working, contact us. Have your full name, policy number, and a description of what you're seeing (including any error codes) ready.
